Thruxton Circuit is now an accredited Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) Centre. A qualification for professional bus, coach and lorry drivers, Driver CPC aims to improve road safety and maintain the highest standard of driving on the roads. Thruxton's facilities have made it the perfect place for Commercial Driver Training to take place.

has been the training partner at Thruxton circuit for a number of years providing unique, measured training courses for drivers of cars, vans trucks and even gritter lorries.

Based on the principle that you can't just tell a driver to drive better, all R3 courses are based on our ethos of ‘actions teach louder than words’ and are very hands-on, using the modern, safe facilities provided at Thruxton.

Gritter Driver Course

Developing this successful relationship further, in 2021 R3 announced the driver CPC gritter driver course, which is a development of a format tested over the last six years. Not only is this course a proven success with drivers, it is also extremely engaging and rewarding with a bonus that it is now eligible as 7hrs of CPC training - If you drive a lorry, bus or coach, you are legally bound to take 35 hours of CPC training over a 5-year period.
