About the Four-Wheel-Drive V8 Driving Experience
The Jaguar F-TYPE SVR and the Audi R8 both utilise a four-wheel-drive system and a powerful V8 engine. Both are fantastic to drive.
After some initial tuition from our ARDS race instructors and some time spent driving the Porsche Cayman, you’ll be ready to drive the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR and Audi R8.
The 'normal' Jaguar F-TYPE is a true British supercar. The SVR, takes the F-TYPE to a completely different level. The SVR is a product of Jaguars SVO department – ‘Special Vehicle Operations’. They create cars that, by their own admission, are the ultimate expression of Jaguar. Their latest creation, the F‑TYPE SVR, is the most powerful F‑TYPE ever made.
The twin-supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine produces 567BHP which is fed to the wheels by a four-wheel-drive system and will take you to 60mph in 3.5 seconds and is capable of 200mph!
They've also reworked and tweaked almost every other aspect of the car, from the aerodynamics, suspension to the ceramic brakes. When you add all of these components together, the car is truly stunning to drive and experience.
After the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR, its time to drive the Audi R8. Audi have hit the spot with their first attempt at a supercar. Not only in the handling and performance department but also with the styling, an area which so many manufacturers fail to get right when entering the supercar market.
Out on track the car has the traction you'd expect from Audi with performance that will blow your mind. The 4.2L V8 engines power is delivered through the tyres so effectively, giving you confidence to push the car harder on the UK's fastest race circuit - Thruxton.
