THRUXTON BECKONS FOR ALL-ACTION BTCC
The Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) sets course for Hampshire this weekend (8/9 June) as Thruxton Circuit plays host to Rounds 10, 11 & 12 of the 2024 season.
In what is always a must-watch spectacle as the UK’s premier motorsport series takes on the fastest circuit in the country, three blockbuster races are poised to write the latest chapter in what is proving to be another action-packed campaign.
After three events, no fewer than six race winners and a total of 11 drivers – more than half the field – having already reached the rostrum; and the expectation is that more names will be added to the roll of honour before the year is out.
NAPA Racing UK’s Ash Sutton is yet to win this season however the four-time champion arrives at Thruxton sitting at the top of the standings, virtue of tallying seven podiums so far.
He, like Team BMW’s Colin Turkington, is targeting a record-breaking fifth title this year and the championship-winning duo occupy the top two spots in the overall standings.
Fellow former champion Tom Ingram and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport’s Jake Hill have been double winners this year and they are both importantly within touching distance of the points summit.
One driver that can never be discounted from being in the mix towards the sharp end of the grid is the undisputed ‘King of Thruxton’ Josh Cook. The Toyota driver has a record 10 wins around his home circuit and with three podiums to his name this season already, he’ll be hungry for success.
Cook’s Toyota stablemates Aiden Moffat and former FIA World Touring Car Championship title winner Rob Huff have both stood on the top step of the podium in 2024 and like their team-mate, they shouldn’t be discounted.
Throw into the mix the likes of Dan Cammish, Dan Rowbottom, Ronan Pearson, Aron Taylor-Smith, Adam Morgan and Tom Chilton, among others, and you begin to see why the BTCC is as competitive as ever this year.
As always, it won’t just be the BTCC that takes centre stage though this weekend as a bumper supporting cast of categories is also revved up to put on a show for the expected bumper trackside crowd.
The ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA, Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain, Vertu MINI CHALLENGE Trophy, Dunlop Mini Miglia Challenge and Dunlop Mini Se7en Challenge make up the support bill.
OFF TRACK ENTERTAINMENT
Away from the on-track entertainment there will be plenty to see and do around the venue with a bustling trade village, supercar display, food stalls, mini karts, bouncy castle, bungee trampolining and face painting - guaranteeing fun for all the family.

The Thruxton Centre will be open all weekend to visitors, with food and drink being served across both days.
