The Junior Trio Driving Experience begins with a driving session. Take control of a Ford Puma in the large tarmac paddock areas at Thruxton. Our skilled instructors will guide you through the fundamental skills of driving, including smooth starts and stops, precise steering through various cone layouts, clutch control, gear changing, and navigating a challenging course that incorporates all the skills you'll learn along the way.
Next, it's time to put your skills to the test at the Skid Pan. Get behind the wheel of both the MINI Cooper and Toyota GT86, equipped with dual controls for added safety. With an instructor by your side, you'll experience the thrill of controlling understeer and oversteer, mastering weight transfer and direction changes. Engage with electronic stability systems, traction control, and ABS, gaining a deeper understanding of how these systems enhance vehicle control and safety.
To complete the Junior Trio Driving Experience, we'll take you off-road on the 4x4 course. Climb into a rugged 4x4 vehicle and conquer challenging terrains under the guidance of our skilled instructors. Learn the techniques of off-road driving, including obstacle navigation, conquering steep inclines and descents, and manoeuvring through tricky terrain. This segment adds an extra dose of excitement and adventure to your day.

Unlike many venues, we use modern front and rear-wheel-drive cars so that you will understand and feel how the electronic safety systems, fitted as standard to most cars, will help in adverse conditions, but also how to control a sliding car when all the systems are switched off relying on pure driver skill. We feel this will give you the best preparation for anything the roads and weather may throw at you.
Bring the speed right down at the 4x4 Off-Road Centre.Driving a 4x4 in the environment it was designed to tackle requires a different skill compared to the race circuit. Patience caution and controlled aggression are needed as you test both the 4x4 vehicle and your own nerve.
