Bentley Ladies’ Pro Golfer Track Challenge at Thruxton

Laura Davies proved that she is a dame with drive as she outperformed some of the Ladies European Tour’s rising stars in the Bentley Ladies’ Pro Golfer Track Challenge at Thruxton Race Circuit on Monday.

Fresh from posting a tie for ninth in the Ricoh Women’s British Open, Davies took to the Hampshire track in a Bentley Continental V8 S along with Cheyenne Woods, Carly Booth and Henni Zuel.

After being trained by Bentley Factory Drivers Steven Kane and Duncan Tappy, the golfers competed in a dynamic driving challenge and track challenge.

Dame Laura came out on top as the overall winner and she said: “This is pretty much my dream day, everyone knows I love driving fast cars so this has been a brilliant experience on the quickest track in the UK. It’s especially nice to finish on top of the podium ahead of the youngsters!"

The experience was organised by Sky Sports Golf presenter Sarah Stirk, director of Xclusive Golf, who commented: "Bentley wanted to put on a track experience featuring some top female golfers and through Xclusive Golf we delivered a unique concept. The profile of the women's game is growing all the time and in Laura, Carly, Hennie and Cheyenne you have four of the game’s most engaging personalities. The girls were in their element and Sky Sports are very keen on profiling more female athletes and showcasing them in a different light outside their comfort zones. The plan is to build on this success in 2015."

The Ladies’ Track Challenge will feature on Sky Sports 4 during this week’s live women’s golf coverage and will also be available to watch on the LET’s YouTube channel.
