Andover Radio & Love Andover to host Community Stage at Thruxton Retro

Thruxton Retro will shine a spotlight on local talent over the weekend of 3 - 5 July as Andover Radio & Love Andover take over the main stage on Sunday 5 July.

Following the success of last year’s event, Andover Radio & Love Andover have once again partnered with Thruxton Retro to deliver a full day of live entertainment, celebrating musicians, performers, dancers, DJs and bands from Andover and the surrounding area.

Running from 10:30 until 18:00, the Community Stage will add even more festival atmosphere to the event, giving visitors the chance to enjoy a packed programme of local entertainment alongside the event’s historic racing, classic vehicles, family activities, food, drink and retro-themed attractions.

The Sunday schedule includes performances from Lani Clayton, Chris McKeegan, Ruby Slippers Show School, Chanelle Steneberg, Georgie Amelia, The Wobblies, Missfits Bellydance, Tipsy Gypsies and 80s tribute band Weird Science, who will bring the stage to a close with a two-hour headline set packed with throwback classics.

For Thruxton Circuit, the partnership reflects the event’s commitment to supporting the local community and giving talented performers a platform at one of circuits biggest summer events.

The team at Thruxton said: “Thruxton Retro has grown into much more than a race meeting, it’s a full weekend festival that brings together motorsport, live entertainment, families, car clubs and the local community. Working with Andover Radio & Love Andover allows us to give local performers a proper stage and showcase the brilliant talent we have in Andover and the surrounding area.

Ben Tuffin, of Andover Radio & Love Andover, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be returning to Thruxton Retro for a second year after the huge success of last year. It’s fantastic to once again be partnering with the Thruxton Retro team to showcase some of the incredible musical and performing talent we have here in Andover and the surrounding area.

“Thruxton Retro has become one of the highlights of the summer calendar, with so much happening both on and off the track. From spectacular historic racing and demonstrations to live music, entertainment, classic vehicles, food, family activities and so much more, there’s something for everyone across the whole weekend.

“We’re proud to be part of such a fantastic event and can’t wait to see people enjoying everything Thruxton Retro has to offer.
